Century Lithium advances Angel Island lithium project with completion of key studies, plant relocation

Century Lithium Corp. (TSX-V:LCE, OTCQX:CYDVF) has provided an update on its Angel Island lithium project in Nevada, highlighting developments in permitting, plant relocation, and feasibility study work.

The project is one of the largest known sediment-hosted lithium resources in the US and is being developed as part of efforts to support domestic critical-mineral supply chains, according to Century Lithium.

The company said it has completed all baseline and environmental studies at the project, which have been accepted by the US Bureau of Land Management, and is finalizing its Plan of Operations to begin the federal permitting process under the National Environmental Policy Act.

The plan will define mine layout, process-plant configuration, water-use and management systems, waste handling, access infrastructure, and environmental mitigation measures.

Century Lithium has also relocated its Demonstration Plant to a 20-acre site at Tonopah Airport, Nevada, which serves as its field office for Angel Island.

The plant was previously used to process bulk samples during a pilot program and will support further research and development at the Tonopah facility.

Work on updating the 2024 Feasibility Study is underway, focusing on mine plan optimization, equipment efficiency, plant design modifications, and reductions to the land-use footprint.

Updates include improvements in fluid management, Direct Lithium Extraction design, and lithium-carbonate production, based on results from the Demonstration Plant. Electrical infrastructure will connect to NV Energy’s Greenlink West transmission project.

Lithium carbonate is expected to remain the primary product, with potential additional revenue from sodium hydroxide generated during processing, according to the company.

"Century Lithium's team remains focused on achieving several key steps ahead as we continue to advance the development of Angel Island,” Century Lithium CEO Bill Willoughby said.

“We believe Angel Island is an asset that will create high-quality US jobs, support domestic critical-mineral supply chains, and position Century Lithium as an American domestic producer of battery-grade lithium carbonate."
