GlobalData PLC (AIM:DATA) shares climbed 6% to 106p after the research and analytics group announced a new £10 million share buyback and confirmed progress on its planned move to the London Stock Exchange’s Main Market.
The company is holding its 2025 capital markets event in London today, where executives are outlining recent investments in artificial intelligence and new features within its data platform.
The session includes case studies and demonstrations aimed at showing how the technology is improving client engagement, although the company stressed it would not be providing any update on current trading.
Management said the buyback reflects the group’s strong cash generation and disciplined approach to capital allocation.
It follows a £60 million tender offer completed in September and nearly £40 million of repurchases in the first half of the year. The fresh programme will begin this week.
GlobalData also reaffirmed plans to shift its listing to the Main Market, saying it expects to provide a timetable update in the week of 12 January. The group said contracted revenue and subscription growth are progressing well under its growth transformation plan.
