Seeing Machines (LON:SEE) shares advanced after the operator monitoring specialist said its alliance with mining equipment giant Caterpillar had seen significant mining sales deals struck for the firm's technology in Australia and Canada.
The sales of DSS to new and existing clients by Caterpillar dealers augurs well for Seeing Machine's fourth quarter, the group said.
Ken Kroeger, Seeing's chief executive, said: "It's great to see the investment that Seeing Machines and Caterpillar have made begin to deliver returns for both parties and for the dealer network.
"The next phases of the relationship will introduce another level of integration between our companies and greatly expand the markets for our technology."
Seeing Machines equipped half of the fleet at BHP Billiton's (LON:BLT) Mount Arthur coal mine in Australia in 2013 following a successful pilot programme.
Mining titan BHP is now deploying the technology into the balance of the site's 90 plus vehicle haul fleet with the help of Eastern Australian Cat dealer - WesTrac, the group told investors today.
Meanwhile, at Kearl, jointly owned by Imperial and ExxonMobil, is one of Canada's highest-quality oil sands deposits with an estimated 4.6bn barrels of recoverable bitumen.
Finning International, one of the world's largest distributors of Caterpillar products and services, in partnership with Caterpillar Safety Services, have been contracted by Imperil to implement a Seeing Machines DSS solution across a 47 haul truck fleet.
Seeing Machines rose 8.57% to 4.75p.
