American Resources and ERI unite on rare earths deal – ICYMI

American Resources Corp (NASDAQ:AREC) earlier this week discussed a new processing agreement signed between its subsidiary, ReElement Technologies, and Electronic Recyclers International (ERI).

The company said the agreement will give ReElement access to magnetic material recovered from consumer electronics, such as earbuds and mobile phones. ERI will pre-process these devices and concentrate them into a powder suitable for rare earth separation.

The company told investors that its facility in Marion, Indiana, will use this powder to produce separated, purified rare earth oxides. It highlighted that it is currently the only company in the US able to complete this full process.

Mark Jensen, CEO of American Resources Corp, said ERI’s infrastructure enables access to hard-to-reach materials from small electronics in an economical way. “We’re the only ones in the country that can do this," he said.

The company said the initiative could reduce reliance on overseas supply chains and help strengthen national security by recycling materials domestically. It noted that the public can support this process by recycling unused electronics through either ERI or ReElement.

American Resources said it expects ReElement’s facility to become the largest producer of rare earth oxides in North America by 2026–2027, with capacity to process both recycled and mined materials.
