Lindian Resources Ltd (ASX:LIN, OTC:LINIF) has begun construction of the Tipume accommodation village at its Kangankunde Rare Earths Project in Malawi.
Tipume – meaning “let’s rest” in Chichewa – is a key step in preparing Kangankunde for the next phase of construction and operations. Initial roadworks, bush clearing for camp access and associated earthworks have been completed. The current phase of works includes subgrade, subbase and base preparation, installation of the wearing course, cut-and-fill activities for the camp terrace, and establishing the camp footprint with drainage and sediment controls. Civil construction for camp facilities is scheduled to start on December 15, 2025.
Elixir Energy Ltd (ASX:EXR, OTC:ELXPF) has locked in a drilling rig for its high-impact Lorelle-3 appraisal well in ATP2056, in Queensland’s Taroom Trough. The rig will be mobilised to the Lorelle-3 well site from January 12, 2026, with spudding of the well expected shortly thereafter.
The contract is with Helmerich & Payne (H&P) for the use of the FlexRig 3 MM 648, which was recently imported by Shell for its own Taroom Trough appraisal campaign.
