Market movers: Amur Minerals, Madagascar Oil, Afren, Roxi Petroleum, Kibo Mining, Greenko

Investors piled into Afren ahead of its general meeting tomorrow.

Below are some of the main news-driven share price changes at 4pm.

RISERS

Afren (LON:AFR) up 85%. Investors were piling in to the company ahead of tomorrow’s make-or-break general meeting to decide whether the proposed debt restructuring and refinancing will go ahead.

Greenko (LON:GKO) up 33%. The Indian clean energy expert was higher on bid rumours as Global Environment Emerging Markets and Cambourne Investment hold shares in its subsidiary which can be transferred into Greenko shares.

Madagascar Oil (LON:MOIL) up 28%. The company has now submitted an environmental impact assessment for the initial phase of the Tsimiroro field development.

FALLERS

Amur Minerals (LON:AMR) down 11.2%. Investors have cooled off a bit and profit taking has occurred since it received its Kun-Manie production licence last month.

Roxi Petroleum (LON:RXP) down 9.4%. The Kazakhstan-focused oil and gas explorer posted a US$20.1mln pre-tax profit in 2014, on the back of the reversal of a US$25mln impairment charge.

Kibo Mining (LON:KIBO) down 8.7%. The company has taken back the shares issued to XCAP Nominees, a subsidiary of Hume Capital, and the forfeited shares will be place in a company account for disposal at another time.

RISERS

FTSE 350: Ladbrokes (LON:LAD) up 17%. The betting firm announced it is in talks with rival Gala Coral about a potential £4bn merger.

Sirius Petroleum (LON:SRSP) up 14% .The company has signed a deal with Havoc Partners. Havoc will be Sirius’s technical adviser and will provide a assessment of the oil and gas assets that Sirius is interested in.

FTSE 350: Petrofac (LON:PFC) up 6.44%. Despite its Laggan-Tormore project costing an extra £30mln to complete, the rest of its portfolio was performing in line with expectations.

FALLERS

Savannah Resources (LON:SAV) down 17.45%. Some profit taking after the company’s value almost doubled on the news it is merging its assets in Mozambique with mining giant Rio Tinto (LON:RIO).

Sirius Minerals (LON:SXX) down 12.55%. Investors remain unsure as to whether or not the company’s plans for its flagship York Potash development will be approved or not.

Coal of Africa (LON:CZA) down 11.3%. Shares plummeted after the company announced new CFO De Wet Schutte will be issued with 2.2mln shares for each of the next three years.

RISERS

Nomad Foods (LON:NHL), up 68.3%. The company, which acquired Iglo Foods Holdings earlier this month, is trading at 20p on its first day of trading on the LSE.

Bilby (LON:BILB), up 14.1%. Bilby, the gas heating and building services firm, has impressed with its first set of results as a public company. Profit before tax shot up from £0.83mln in the 12 months to 31/1/14 to £1.98mln in the 14 months to 31/3/15.

Coral Products (LON:CRU), up 12.2%.The injection moulding specialist has received its first purchase order for volume production of specially designed crates for use in on-line delivery centres. The order has a total value of £1.1 million.

FALLERS

Alecto Minerals (LON:ALO), down 24.2%. The shares tumble to 0.125p after the company raised £300,000 through a placing of shares at 0.1p each. The newly issued shares represent 21.43% of the enlarged issued share capital of the Africa-focused miners.

Tangent Communications (LON:TNG), down 13.0%. The company issued a profit warning due to worse-than-expected performance at its Tangent Snowball division.

Geong (LON:GNG), down 12.0%. The Beijing-based information technology firm’s chief financial officer, David Kar Ning Tsui, has resigned. His duties will be taken on by Ms Liying Wang, who currently works in the company’s finance department.
