American Rare Earths deepens Tetra Tech alliance to target US funding for Halleck Creek

American Rare Earths Ltd (ASX:ARR, OTCQB:ARRNF) has broadened its relationship with Tetra Tech (NASDAQ:TTEK) to include strategic support in identifying and securing US government funding for its flagship Halleck Creek rare earths project in Wyoming.

Tetra Tech, a leading engineering firm to the US federal government and major defence agencies, will work with ARR to explore, advise on and apply for government funding programs aimed at advancing critical minerals supply chains.

The two companies have worked closely since 2023, with Tetra Tech leading mineral processing test work and engineering studies at Halleck Creek. With detailed knowledge of the project and extensive experience navigating federal funding channels, Tetra Tech’s role is now being expanded to include broader strategic engagement with US government stakeholders, while continuing to provide technical and engineering services as the project progresses.

“Leveraging Tetra Tech’s technical expertise and vast experience with governmental funding opportunities will help to highlight the Halleck Creek project even further and build upon the work we’ve already done at the federal and state levels to advance this project with government support,” said Richard Hudson, chairman of ARR.

Strengthening US critical minerals supply chains

American Rare Earths says the expanded partnership aligns with US efforts to strengthen critical minerals supply chains and bring rare earths magnet production back onshore. Despite recent progress, the US still has only one operating rare earths mine and remains heavily exposed to overseas supply.

Both American Rare Earths and Tetra Tech see Halleck Creek as a potential long-term contributor to diversifying and de-risking upstream light and heavy rare earth supply for the growing US magnetics industry, particularly for national security and defence applications.
