Nvidia posts stellar Q3 revenue as data center demand soars

Nvidia Corp (NASDAQ:NVDA, XETRA:NVD) reported third-quarter revenue that exceeded expectations, supported by increased demand for its AI-focused data center products.

The chipmaker posted revenue of $57.01 billion for its fiscal third quarter, surpassing Wall Street expectations of $55.19 billion and marking a 62% increase from a year earlier. Adjusted earnings per share rose to $1.30, up 60% year-over-year and 24% sequentially.

Nvidia’s data center segment, the company’s largest revenue driver, brought in $51.2 billion, beating analysts’ estimates of $49.34 billion and rising 66% from a year ago.

The company said its Blackwell platform delivered record demand, offering the highest performance and 10x throughput per megawatt versus the previous generation in SemiAnalysis InferenceMAX benchmarks.

“Blackwell sales are off the charts, and cloud GPUs are sold out,” Nvidia founder and CEO Jensen Huang said in a statement. “Compute demand keeps accelerating and compounding across training and inference — each growing exponentially. We’ve entered the virtuous cycle of AI.”

Other segments showed mixed results. Gaming revenue rose 30% year-over-year to $4.3 billion but fell 1% sequentially, slightly below analysts’ $4.42 billion estimate. Professional visualization revenue jumped 56% to $760 million, while automotive revenue increased 32% to $590 million.

Nvidia reported adjusted operating income of $37.75 billion, beating estimates of $36.46 billion, and adjusted net income of $31.77 billion, up 59% from a year ago. Free cash flow grew 32% to $22.09 billion, and the company returned $37 billion to shareholders via buybacks and dividends in the first nine months of fiscal 2026.

Looking ahead, Nvidia projected fourth-quarter revenue of $65 billion, well above the consensus estimate of $61.98 billion, and forecast adjusted gross margins around 75%.

“The AI ecosystem is scaling fast — with more new foundation model makers, more AI startups, across more industries, and in more countries,” Huang added. “AI is going everywhere, doing everything, all at once.”

Shares of Nvidia rose 3.7% in after-hours trading following the earnings release.
