Graphene Manufacturing Group Ltd (TSX-V:GMG, OTCQX:GMGMF) said Tuesday that a Ford car treated with its G-LUBRICANT product achieved fuel savings of nearly 14% in a charity car rally in Australia.
Brisbane-based GMG sponsored the GC Strip rally team, which drove a Ford Falcon petrol and gasoline engine rally car between Gold Coast and Alice Springs.
GMG said that, after the team added G-LUBRICANT, the Ford Falcon Rally Car averaged 9.3 litres per 100 kilometres on the trip, a reduction of 1.5ltrs/100km, or around 13.8% in fuel efficiency savings.
The Charity Rally raises funds for cancer research. Participants drive cars worth under $1,500 across Australia in challenging road conditions.
"Not only did we have better fuel efficiency, but we noticed a little drop in engine temperature and the engine definitely sounded smoother,” rally car team lead Scott Hubbard said in a statement.
“By the finish line, we had beaten the car up pretty badly, front end suspension gone, front shocks completely failed, cracked windscreen, roof damage, exhaust damaged, front wheels knocked out of alignment, gearbox issues, several tyres shredded and a number of cosmetic damages to the car. In fact, the only thing that really made it through the rally unscathed and in perfect working order was the engine!"
The Charity Rally ran a total of 3850 kilometres, with around 2,000km on sealed and 1,850km on unsealed roads.
