Midnight Sun Mining Corp (TSX-V:MMA, OTCQB:MDNGF) reported new assay results from additional holes drilled as part of its ongoing exploration program at the Dumbwa target in Zambia.
Notable results included diamond drillhole DBW-25-009, which intercepted 0.98% copper over 15 meters and 0.79% copper over 5.25 meters, and DBW-25-10, which intercepted 1% copper over 22 meters.
The company noted that the project continues to bear a strong similarity to Barrick Mining’s Lumwana Mine.
Drilling to date has identified nearly 1.5 kilometers of mineralized strike, which is oriented north-south and appears to be steeply included.
The core of the main north-south mineral zone shows high concentrations of the copper minerals bornite and chalcopyrite, according to Midnight Sun. Moving away from this center, the amount of mineralization decreases, becoming mostly chalcopyrite. The central section's overall copper grade is enhanced by the discovery of intermittent, high-quality mineral veins.
"We continue to deliver rapid progress at Dumbwa, effectively expanding the strike length, and continuing to refine our geological model,” Midnight Sun’s chief operating officer Kevin Bonel said in a statement.
“With nearly 1.5 kilometers of mineralized strike defined to date, and the full scale of Dumbwa coming sharply into focus, our confidence in the system's size, high-grade potential, and significance has never been higher."
The company has completed 51 drill holes, with five holes in progress. The immediate plan calls for an additional 75 holes to test the mineral zone across the next 3 kilometers of its strike length, representing about 15,000 meters of planned drilling.
Midnight Sun Mining has decided to continue exploration work throughout the upcoming rainy season. The company expects to maintain approximately 90% productivity due to expected weather delays. The overall program is otherwise projected to proceed without interruption.
Samples from 11 recently completed drill holes have been sent to the lab for testing, while the remaining collected samples are currently being prepared for submission.
“Momentum is firmly on our side as we drive aggressively through the remainder of 2025, fully aligned with our goal of systematically delineating the strike potential of Dumbwa,” Bonel added. “With five drill rigs turning, a sixth expected in early 2026, and continuous drilling planned through the rainy season, we are advancing this discovery with conviction."
