capAI PLC (LSE:CPAI) has announced the soft launch of Author42, a generative-AI platform aimed at non-fiction authors, editors and book publishing teams.
The company said the launch follows a twelve-week public beta during which core systems were tested for functionality and stability.
Author42 provides AI-generated book blueprints, market-demand validation and export-ready manuscript formatting as part of an integrated authoring workflow.
A central feature is CLARA42, a three-tier editorial engine delivering developmental, line and copy editing.
“With CLARA42 integrated into Author42, we bring professional editing within reach of every author,” said Jayne Lytel, AI Architect at capMedia.
The company said the platform helps authors shorten planning cycles and increase completion rates through structured drafting support.
capAI noted that the soft-launch phase will validate onboarding flows, refine editorial processes and test pricing and support readiness before full commercial release.
The platform is offered via a tiered subscription model, including a free plan and paid options starting at US$20 per month.
Fiction-focused tools, including a character-specific voice engine called VOICE42, are planned for early 2026.
In London, capAI shares were down 5.85p in Tuesday morning trade at 1.77p.
