Quantum Helium Limited (AIM:QHE) told investors it has started field operations for a new 3D seismic acquisition programme at its Sagebrush project in Colorado.
The company said the seismic survey spans around 16 square miles across the Sagebrush field and nearby leads, linking with existing 3D coverage at its Coyote Wash area.
The survey is designed to image structures in the Leadville Formation and Ismay algal mounds, helping to determine the size and continuity of the helium accumulation intersected in the Sagebrush-1 well, it noted.
Initial processing is targeted for completion before year-end, with full interpretation expected in the first quarter of 2026. Quantum continues to prepare for an extended well test at Sagebrush-1, which awaits final approval from the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
Chief executive Howard McLaughlin said the programme would mark a significant technical step for the project.
“This 3D programme will give us, for the first time, a detailed image of the subsurface geometry around the Sagebrush-1 helium discovery,” he said in the announcement.
McLaughlin added that the dataset would help define further targets and link seamlessly with the group’s northern acreage.
Quantum said the survey results will support drilling and development planning during 2026.
The company holds an 82.5% working interest in the project.
