Lindian Resources Ltd (ASX:LIN, OTC:LINIF) has appointed Robert Rickie as commercial and supply manager, further building its leadership capability as construction and project delivery progress at the Kangankunde Rare Earths Project in Malawi.
Rickie has more than 15 years’ experience in contracts, procurement and project delivery across the mining and resources sector. He joins Lindian from IGO Ltd, where he was head of contracts and procurement, reporting to the CFO and leading a team of more than 15 people across three operating sites and a major project development portfolio.
At IGO, he was responsible for negotiating and administering key commercial agreements supporting multiple asset acquisitions, divestments and developments, and formed part of the senior leadership group contributing to business strategy and culture. He also developed and implemented IGO’s contractor management frameworks and systems, embedding ESG and supplier governance initiatives across the business.

Rickie will lead the commercial and supply chain function for Kangankunde. He will be responsible for developing and executing the commercial and supply strategy from construction into operations, including procurement, contracting, logistics, and governance to ensure materials, services and product move efficiently, on time and on budget. He will also work closely with the operations, finance, legal and HSEC teams to establish systems and processes that support safe, reliable and sustainable project delivery.
Looking back
Earlier in his career, Rickie held senior commercial positions with Iluka Resources Ltd, Atlas Iron Ltd, Outback Constructors of Australia, GHD and Thinc Projects. His experience covers the full project lifecycle from feasibility and design through to construction and operations, including tendering, contract negotiation, dispute resolution and Indigenous and local supplier engagement.
Rickie holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Western Australia and a Bachelor of Applied Science (Construction Management and Economics) from Curtin University.
