The Market Wrap: ASX down as controversies abound

The S&P/ASX 200 finished lower on Thursday, shedding 46.10 points, or 0.52%, to 8,753.40 to mark a new 50-day low. The weakest stocks in the benchmark were DroneShield Limited and GrainCorp Limited, down 31.40% and 10.84% respectively. Over the past five sessions the index has lost 0.85% and now sits 3.97% below its 52-week high.

The S&P/ASX Small Ordinaries Index (XSO) slipped 21.50 points, or 0.58%, to 3,716.70, but remains up 44.50 points, or 1.21%, over the past five days.
