Pinnacle Silver & Gold identifies gold-silver mineralization at historic La Dura mine in Mexico

Pinnacle Silver & Gold Corp (TSX-V:PINN, OTCQB:NRGOF) has announced sampling results from the historic La Dura mine at its El Potrero gold-silver project in Durango, Mexico.

The company said the results extend the mineralized strike length along the Dos de Mayo vein structure to nearly 500 metres.

According to Pinnacle, the Dos de Mayo vein has not been previously drilled.

The La Dura mine includes a main adit that follows the vein for about 60 metres, as well as two smaller adits located roughly 10 metres above and southeast of the main adit, collectively referred to as La Dura 2.

Of the 722 underground samples collected to date at El Potrero, 146 were taken from La Dura, including 40 from the two smaller adits.

Sampling from six composite channels over a 12-metre strike length returned an average width of 1.3 metres, with average grades of 1.98 grams per ton (g/t) gold and 98 g/t silver.

Individual samples reached up to 4.51 g/t gold and 269 g/t silver over 0.5 metres. The company also noted that visible gold was observed in some locations.

“The discovery of this third zone of gold-silver mineralization along the Dos de Mayo vein is further evidence of the repeatability of these zones along strike,” Pinnacle CEO Robert Archer said in a statement.

“These preliminary grades at La Dura 2 are still comparable to other low-sulphidation epithermal systems in Mexico and serve to underscore the high-grade nature of the gold-silver mineralization defined to date on the project.”

Pinnacle said there is about 150 metres between La Dura and the Pinos Cuates mine, where previous sampling results included grades of up to 85 g/t gold and 520 g/t silver over 0.5 metres, that will be drill tested for additional mineralized zones.

The company also identified approximately 120 metres of untested strike potential between Pinos Cuates and the Dos de Mayo mine, as well as more than 1,000 metres to the northwest of La Dura.

Pinnacle added that ongoing surface and underground mapping and sampling are now focused on the La Estrella vein, a north-south trending structure about 500 metres southwest of the Dos de Mayo trend. The relationship between the two vein orientations is still being evaluated.
