Anthropic on Wednesday unveiled plans to invest $50 billion in a nationwide artificial intelligence infrastructure build-out, beginning with custom data centers in Texas and New York.
The initiative is being developed in partnership with GPU cloud provider Fluidstack and is expected to create approximately 800 permanent jobs and more than 2,000 construction roles.
Fluidstack, based in London, supplies large-scale GPU clusters to clients including Meta, Midjourney, and Mistral
The first sites are slated to go live in 2026, with additional locations planned in the coming years.
The facilities will support Anthropic’s enterprise growth and long-term research agenda, the company highlighted.
“We’re getting closer to AI that can accelerate scientific discovery and help solve complex problems in ways that weren’t possible before. Realizing that potential requires infrastructure that can support continued development at the frontier,” Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei said.
“These sites will help us build more capable AI systems that can drive those breakthroughs, while creating American jobs.”
