Ocean Power Technologies Inc (NYSE-A:OPTT) has announced a partnership with Mythos AI to integrate advanced artificial intelligence autonomy software across its fleet of WAM-V Autonomous Surface Vehicles (ASVs) and PowerBuoy platforms.
The collaboration aims to enhance the company’s operational performance and broaden the range of integrated solutions it offers across defense, security, and commercial markets.
OPT believes the initiative will strengthen its position in the growing autonomous and intelligent maritime systems sector.
Under the agreement, OPT and Mythos AI will combine OPT’s ocean platform and systems integration capabilities with Mythos AI’s autonomy software to improve endurance, adaptability, and mission versatility at sea. The companies plan to begin demonstrations in the first quarter of 2026.
The integrated systems will use real-time edge processing, multi-sensor fusion, and adaptive learning to support functions such as situational awareness, obstacle avoidance, and multi-vehicle coordination. Later development phases are expected to include vehicle-buoy collaboration.
OPT said the partnership aligns with its strategy to deliver modular and persistent systems that integrate power, autonomy, and communications to help customers operate more efficiently and safely in complex maritime environments.

Geoff Douglass, Mythos AI CEO, expressed excitement about the partnership, which he said would “push the boundaries of intelligent autonomy on the water.”
