Quantum Blockchain Technologies PLC (AIM:QBT) has announced the release of a software-only version of its Method C AI Oracle for Bitcoin mining rigs.
The version integrates with CGMiner and similar systems and is independent of the ASIC chip, which the company says will reduce time to market and capital expenditure for customers.
The software version has been in development for 10 months, with notable progress in the past three months due to a new AI training approach. Internal testing at QBT’s Milan laboratory showed more than a 10% improvement in mining efficiency.
"The last six months have been crucial for this major R&D achievement which has involved, among other things, the generation of a staggering amount of mining data for the training of the new AI model," said chief executive Francesco Gardin.
"We can confirm that US-based ASIC manufacturers are making enquiries with us about our technology, as it potentially offers a key competitive element to take their miners from `hashing-rate' only performance, to quality hash generation."
Gardin added that the company is expected to hold talks with crypto miners at industry event Mining Disrupt, which takes place this week, including some follow-ups from prior meetings from the summer.
