Markets in a Minute: Flight Centre and Lion Rock Minerals shine, Megaport sinks

The ASX200 closed lower on Wednesday, shedding 0.22 of a per cent.

Consumer staples and energy both led the charts by about 1 per cent, whilst IT took a big hit - shedding more than 3 per cent.

Green

Flight Centre was up today on its first-quarter FY26 update. The company reported strong momentum in its corporate travel segment and early signs of recovery in leisure travel, with profit growth expected in the second half.

Lion Rock Minerals also shot up after identifying the source of high-grade rutile mineralisation at its Minta Est Project in Cameroon. The discovery includes monazite, zircon and xenotime.

Red

Aristocrat Leisure plunged on its full-year results. The gaming tech company posted double-digit revenue and profit growth, but guidance for the year ahead seems to have missed investors' expectations.

Megaport also took a hit on its $220 million capital raise. Funds will be used to acquire cloud infrastructure firm Latitude.sh for 150 million US dollars in cash and scrip.
