ECO Animal Health rises on EMA committee backing for new poultry vaccine

Shares in Eco Animal Health Group Plc (AIM:EAH) rose as much as 8% in early trading after the company received a positive opinion from the European Medicines Agency (EMA) for its ECOVAXXIN MS poultry vaccine.

The opinion, issued by the Committee for Medicinal Products for Veterinary Use (CVMP), recommends EU marketing authorisation for the vaccine, which protects chickens against Mycoplasma synoviae, a disease that causes air-sac and foot-pad lesions and can cut egg production by up to 10%.

The EMA is expected to grant final approval in the first quarter of 2026, paving the way for a European commercial launch in the second half of 2026.

Chief executive David Hallas said the milestone supports ECO’s growth strategy, with further product submissions planned over the next 12 months as the company expands its veterinary vaccine portfolio across additional global markets.

After an early burst, the stock fell back a little and was up 4% at 83.96p.
