Lightning Minerals Ltd (ASX:L1M) managing director Alex Biggs talked with Proactive about the latest assay results from its Mt Turner Gold Project in Queensland. The company has now released its second round of assays from the inaugural drilling program, confirming high-grade epithermal gold at Pit 5 (Drummer Girl) and notable zinc, lead, and silver mineralisation at the Cobar prospect.
Biggs outlined that one of the standout intercepts included 20.4 metres at 2.5 g/t gold from just 70 metres below surface, while the latest batch featured 3.6 g/t gold with sections reaching 11 g/t. He said, "We're demonstrating the presence of epithermal gold along the Drummer Fault, which is great." The drilling targeted historical open pits from the 1980s and 1990s, confirming continuity of mineralisation below them.
At the Cobar prospect, located four kilometres south of the Drummer Fault, the company intersected 12.5 metres at 6.2% zinc, with internal zones showing nearly 20% zinc and 150 g/t silver.
