Far East Gold CEO and managing director Shane Menere talked with Proactive about the company’s latest drill results from the Sua prospect, part of the Idenburg Gold Project in Papua Province, Indonesia.
Menere discussed the results from hole KSD023, which delivered coarse visible gold and bonanza-grade intercepts — including 82g/t gold over 8.4 metres. He noted that the twin hole, drilled approximately seven metres from a previous intercept, not only confirmed the earlier result but exceeded expectations.
“This particular intercept averaged nearly ten metres at around 14 grams per ton and was only 18 metres from the surface,” Menere said.
The company is now engaged in step-out drilling to test continuity along strike and depth, with the goal of establishing Idenburg as a potential tier-one project.
