US artificial intelligence firm Anthropic said it will expand its European presence by opening offices in Paris and Munich, following surging demand for its Claude AI models outside the United States.
The San Francisco-based company, valued at $183 billion and backed by Alphabet and Amazon, was founded in 2021 by former OpenAI employees.
Anthropic already operates in London, Dublin and Zurich, and tripled its European headcount last year.
The company said Europe, the Middle East and Africa have become its fastest-growing region, with revenue up more than ninefold over the past year.
