Kairos Minerals Managing Director Dr. Peter Turner talked with Proactive about the company’s latest drilling campaign at the Mt York Gold Project in Western Australia.
The program, which includes 10,000 metres of reverse circulation and diamond drilling, is focused on expanding the company’s existing 1.40 million-ounce gold resource. Dr. Turner explained that Kairos now has permission to drill an additional 1.5-kilometre extension of the mineralised zone, with up to four rigs expected to operate throughout November.
“This is the largest drill program in the company’s history on this asset,” said Turner. “Every time we drill this asset, the resource goes up.”
Kairos has already completed around 30,000 metres of drilling over the broader project area in the past six months. The updated Mineral Resource Estimate is expected in Q1 2026, which will incorporate results from this extensive campaign.
In addition, Turner provided an update on the mining lease application, noting that it is on track following approval of the mining agreement by the Native Title group’s board. A formal meeting with the common law holders is scheduled to finalise the agreement.
