Riversgold completes grade control drilling at Kalgoorlie ahead of next campaign

Riversgold Ltd (ASX:RGL, OTC:RVSGF) has wrapped up grade control drilling across its Kalgoorlie Gold Project, completing 29 drill holes across the Northern Zone and newly acquired Gold Wing areas — including the first-ever drilling on the Gold Wing tenure.

Assay results are expected to start arriving over the next three to four weeks, and Riversgold has already scheduled its next drill campaign for November 17, with approvals in place for a further 150 drill holes at Gold Wing.

  • At Northern Zone, 21 drill holes were completed for 1,351 metres with 931 samples submitted for assay.
  • At Gold Wing, eight holes were completed for 330 metres, with 330 samples submitted.

“We are on target to deliver our drilling plans for our Kalgoorlie Gold Project, comprising the Northern Zone and Gold Wing Projects, through to the end of the year,” said Riversgold chair David Lenigas. “We are delighted to have already completed our first holes at Gold Wing, located to the north of Northern Zone, just weeks after finalising the acquisition in early October and the first drilling to ever be completed on this ground.

“All of the latest drilling samples are in the lab in Kalgoorlie and we expect results to start coming through within weeks.”

Geological context and next steps

The broader Kalgoorlie Gold Project lies 25 kilometres east of the Kalgoorlie Super Pit. Northern Zone hosts gold mineralisation within a tonalite–trondhjemite intrusion (TTI), characterised by high background gold and flat-lying mineralised units. Drilling conditions have been favourable — no water to 60 metres depth — enabling fast, cost-efficient drilling perpendicular to mineralisation.

Location of Northern Zone Gold Project just 25km east of the Kalgoorlie “Super Pit”. The Gold Wing Project is ~500m north of Northern Zone and together, the Gold Wing and Northern Zone Projects comprise RGL’s Kalgoorlie Project.

Gold Wing, positioned just north of Northern Zone, represents a new exploration front. The ground has never seen drilling, with prior activity limited to historical prospectors using metal detectors and surface scraping. The upcoming 150-hole program is expected to rapidly increase geological understanding of this area.

Advancing towards a maiden resource

Riversgold continues to compile results from earlier Northern Zone drilling as it advances towards a maiden Mineral Resource Estimate. Previous intercepts include:

  • 18 metres at 4.14 g/t gold from 36 metres (NZRC001)
  • 10 metres at 8.89 g/t gold from 46 metres (NZAC127)
  • 7 metres at 3.14 g/t gold from 47 metres (NZAC124)
  • 6 metres at 6.12 g/t gold from 35 metres (NZRC012)
  • 5 metres at 4.37 g/t gold from 37 metres (NZRC008)
  • 8 metres at 4.86 g/t gold from 34 metres (NZAC090)
  • 5 metres at 12.27 g/t gold from 32 metres (NZAC062)
  • 16 metres at 4.69 g/t gold from 30 metres (NZAC033)

Riversgold also notes conceptual similarities between Northern Zone and Saturn Metals’ Apollo Hill heap-leach project — offering a potential analogue for scale as drilling density increases.

With assays due shortly and a larger drilling program commencing mid-November, Riversgold enters the final stretch of 2025 with momentum building across both project areas.
