Tertiary Minerals PLC (AIM:TYM, OTC:TTIRF) has kicked off a fresh round of drilling at its Mushima North Project in Zambia, targeting further extensions of promising silver, copper and zinc mineralisation identified earlier this year.
The AIM-listed explorer said around 1,000 metres of reverse circulation drilling is planned at Target A1, located roughly 28 kilometres east of the historic Kalengwa copper-silver mine, which is now being redeveloped.
The new campaign will focus on extending known mineralised zones, confirming continuity between drill lines and testing deeper sections of the deposit. Previous drilling at the same target returned strong results, including 58 metres at 49 grams per tonne (g/t) silver and 0.26% copper, with higher-grade intervals of up to 124 g/t silver and 0.73% copper.
Managing director Richard Belcher said the company is “excited to be drilling again this year” and aims to use the results to define an exploration target and move towards a maiden resource within the next 12 months.
He added that the mineralised zone currently covers a surface footprint of about 450 by 400 metres and extends to a depth of 84 metres. Drilling is expected to be completed within two weeks, with updates on progress and results to follow.
