Biome Technologies (LON:BIOM) shares rose over 8% as it revealed its Stanelco RF division had secured a £1.1mln contract.
The deal is with an Asian customer and is for the manufacture of a set of fibre optic furnaces for supply this year.
The group reported earlier this year on "encouraging" signs that the supply demand balance in the Asian fibre optic market was changing and that the division was quoting for a number of potential customers.
"This order is indicative of the improvement in market conditions and gives significant underpinning to the board's expected outcome for this division in 2015," the firm said in a brief statement.
Shares added 8.16% to 152.5p.
