CellBxHealth jumps 10% after unveiling Roche-linked cancer testing study

Shares in CelLBxHealth PLC (AIM:CLBX, NSX:ANPCY) rose 10% to 2.3p after the company revealed encouraging early results from a study showing its cancer cell detection platform works seamlessly with Roche’s leading diagnostic equipment.

The Guildford-based biotech, which specialises in analysing circulating tumour cells, live cancer cells that move through the bloodstream, presented the findings at the World ADC Conference in San Diego, the main global meeting for antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) therapies.

The proof-of-concept work demonstrated that CellBxHealth’s Parsortix system is compatible with Roche’s automated BenchMark ULTRA staining platform, widely used in hospitals to analyse millions of tissue samples each year.

Tests focused on three major cancer targets: HER2 for breast cancer, TROP2 for lung cancer and PSMA for prostate cancer, showing Roche’s system could detect these markers from blood-derived cells with results comparable to manual methods.

Chief executive Peter Collins said the study underscored how biomarker-driven treatments can improve patient outcomes and highlighted the potential of real-time monitoring using blood tests rather than invasive tissue biopsies.
