Sound Oil (LON:SOU) has this morning detailed a number of senior management changes as it gears up for its first project in Morocco.
Luca Madeddu, currently managing director for Italy, will now head the Moroccan division.
Madeddu will relocate to Rabat and will lead a small expert team in preparation for the group’s operatorship of the onshore Tendrara licence.
Leaonardo Spicci, who has been Madeddu’s deputy in Italy, will now take over the role of managing director in Italy.
"Our Moroccan country entry is the first transformational transaction in pursuit of our Mediterranean gas strategy,” said chief executive James Parsons.
“In anticipation of our operations on the Tendrara licence, with its multiple Tcf potential, and further growth in Morocco, I am very pleased to report that Luca has accepted this opportunity to lead our team in Rabat.
“This enables us to retain the balance of our tight knit executive team whilst managing our broader portfolio and leveraging off our Milan based technical hub."
