Elixir Energy Ltd (ASX:EXR, OTC:ELXPF) has appointed Justin Ferravant as chief financial officer and company secretary, replacing Vicky Allinson, who has retired from finance and resigned from the role.
The appointment takes effect immediately and coincides with a period of increased field activity for Elixir, with multiple testing, drilling and seismic programs scheduled over the next six months. The company said the phase marks an inflection point that will emphasise tighter financial control, disciplined capital management and execution across its programs.
“The company is extremely indebted to Vicky for the sterling job in carrying out both the CFO and company secretary roles since listing,” Richard Cottee, non-executive chairman, said. “The board and I wish her the very best in the next chapter of her professional life. The appointment of Justin comes at a crucial time in the company’s development coinciding with the critical decision to appoint employees to the COO and CFO positions. Given our focus on commercialisation of our acreage, Justin’s background could not be more apposite.”
Experience with Santos and Origin
Ferravant is a Certified Practicing Accountant and a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors with more than 25 years’ experience in the energy and resources sectors. He has held senior finance and commercial roles at Origin Energy and Santos and, since 2017, served as CFO and company secretary at Strike Energy, where he oversaw project and asset financing for several developments. His experience spans financial management, corporate governance, capital planning and delivery of complex projects.
Elixir expects Ferravant’s industry background to support the company’s growth programs in Queensland’s Taroom Trough. His remuneration includes an incentive package aligned with other key management personnel; further details were not disclosed in the announcement.
Drilling in January
It’s all go at Elixir, which last week issued a Queensland operations update for the Taroom Trough and wider Surat–Bowen Basin, saying it will resume operatorship of the Diona-1 permit once the JV is formalised and is preparing multi-stage stimulation and production testing for execution this quarter.
For Lorelle-3, Elixir has agreed terms to use the H&P FlexRig 648 — brought to Australia by Shell for its Taroom Trough appraisal — secured land access and long-lead items with civil works to start shortly, and scheduled the high-impact appraisal well for drilling in January 2026.
