Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL, ETR:APC) on Thursday reported fourth-quarter earnings that exceeded Wall Street expectations, as strong iPhone sales and record services revenue helped the tech giant post another quarterly milestone.
For the quarter ended September 28, Apple reported revenue of $102.47 billion, slightly above analysts’ estimate of $102.19 billion, marking an 8% increase from a year earlier.
Earnings per share rose 13% to $1.85, topping the $1.77 consensus estimate.
“September quarter revenue of $102.5 billion, including a September quarter record for iPhone and an all-time revenue record for Services,” CEO Tim Cook said.
iPhone revenue reached $49.03 billion, up 6.1% from a year ago, though slightly below the $50.1 billion analysts had anticipated. Mac sales came in at $8.73 billion, beating forecasts, while iPad revenue of $6.95 billion narrowly missed estimates. Wearables, Home & Accessories posted $9.01 billion, exceeding projections.
Apple’s services segment reached an all-time high of $28.75 billion, contributing to a total products revenue of $73.72 billion, slightly above expectations.
Regionally, sales in Greater China fell short at $14.49 billion versus an expected $16.43 billion, while the Americas generated $44.19 billion, just below projections.
Shares of Apple were up around 3.8% aftermarket Thursday.
