eBay Inc (NASDAQ:EBAY, ETR:EBA) shares sank more than 13% in early trading on Thursday after the online marketplace reported third quarter 2025 financial results that exceeded expectations but issued a softer-than-expected profit forecast for Q4.
The company posted Q3 adjusted earnings of $1.36 per share on revenue that rose 9% year over year to $2.8 billion.
Analysts expected $1.33 per share in adjusted earnings for the period and $2.73 billion in revenue, according to data provided by LSEG.
eBay also saw its Gross Merchandise Volume (GMV) during the quarter improve 10% to $20.1 billion, lifted by 13% growth in the US and a 7% increase globally.
Looking ahead, the company is projecting Q4 adjusted earnings of $1.31 to $1.36 per share, below the $1.39 Wall Street forecast.
