Eli Lilly Q3 earnings and revenue top estimates, boosted by weight loss drug demand

Eli Lilly and Co (NYSE:LLY) on Thursday reported third quarter 2025 financial results that handily beat Wall Street forecasts, as the company continued to see strong demand for its weight loss drug Zepbound and diabetes treatment Mounjaro.

The pharmaceutical giant’s revenue for the quarter rose 54% year over year to $17.6 billion, surpassing the analyst consensus estimate of $16.01 billion, according to data provided by LSEG.

The company’s top-line results were lifted by an 184% improvement in Zepbound sales and a 109% increase in revenue from Mounjaro.

As well, Eli Lilly posted adjusted earnings per share for the period of $7.02, much better than the $5.69 anticipated by Wall Street.

The company also raised its full-year outlook, now expecting fiscal 2025 revenue of between $63 billion and $63.5 billion, up from $60 billion to $62 billion previously, along with adjusted earnings of $23 to $23.70 per share, compared with its prior forecast of $21.75 to $23 a share.

Eli Lilly shares moved 2.3% higher in early trading on Thursday.
