Verizon Communications Inc (NYSE:VZ, ETR:BAC) on Wednesday reported mixed financial results for its third quarter 2025, as the telecom company added more postpaid phone subscribers but continues to lose wireless subscriber market share in a highly competitive environment.
Verizon posted adjusted earnings for the quarter of $1.21 per share, surpassing the analyst consensus estimate of $1.19, according to FactSet.
Revenue for the period rose 1.5% year over year to $33.8 billion, falling short of the $34.26 billion Wall Street forecast.
Verizon said it added 44,000 wireless postpaid phone subscribers in Q3, but its consumer business lost 7,000 subscribers. Analysts expected a gain of 19,000 subscribers.
The company also added 261,000 wireless 5G broadband customers during the period.
As well, Verizon reiterated 2025 guidance and raised its dividend for the 19th consecutive year.
Verizon shares gained more than 2% to $40.14 in early trading on Wednesday.
