Far East Gold Ltd (ASX:FEG) managing director Shane Menere talked with Proactive about a major new gold discovery at the Idenburg Project in Papua Province, Indonesia.
The discovery comes from the company's first scout drilling at the North Bermol prospect. Menere confirmed that drilling identified a new northwest-trending shear zone containing high-grade gold mineralisation, similar to that at the main Bermol deposit.
He said the results included intervals grading up to 15g/t, describing the mineralised structure as “shallow, continuous and strong,” and noting: “It’s exactly what gets mining engineers excited.”
Far East Gold said this marks a potential turning point for the project, with strong potential for a district-scale operation.
