Shares in flourspar explorer Tertiary Minerals (LON:TYM) rose after i upgraded the resource at its MB project in Nevada, USA, by more than double.

The new resource is 86.4mln tonnes, a 126% increase on the previous estimate, with 6.1mln tonnes in the indicated category and 80.3mln inferred.

Average grades were 10.7% with a 9% cut-off grade applied.

Tertiary added the deposit remains open in all directions and at depth.

Overall across the portfolio, so including the Storuman, Lassedalen and MB projects, the firm has lifted its total fluorspar resource by 67%.

Gold miner Medusa Mining (ASX:MML) has upped production guidance for the year to end-June 2016 at its flagship Co-O mine in the Philippines.

The company said it expects production will fall somewhere between 120,000 and 130,000 ounces of gold in fiscal 2015/16, while production for fiscal 2016/17 is expected to rise to 135,000 – 145,000 ounces.

Elsewhere, gld recovery specialist Goldplat (LON:GDP) is making progress in clearing the backlog of by-product material waiting to be processed, thus improving cash flow.

As previously announced, the inability of its third party refining partner in South Africa, Rand Refinery, to process certain by-product material for Goldplat has had a detrimental effect on cash flow and profitability, but the company has taken various actions to achieve its target of clearing the backlog by the end of the year.

Goldplat said it has started to receive cash from the Aurubis Refinery in Germany, which has been contracted to process a pipeline of by-product material, while Rand Refinery has started to process a small amount of certain categories of backlog materials.

Ormonde Mining (LON:ORM) believes the long term outlook for tungsten remains good despite the recent weakness in the metal’s price.

Tungsten has fallen to about US$230mtu from over US$350 a year ago, but Ormonde expects an improvement both on the demand and supply side in the next couple of years.

Demand should follow the economic cycle, strengthening as economic conditions improve worldwide, it said.

Metal analysts predict an upturn in tungsten prices in the next couple of years which is when Ormonde’s new mine at Barruecopardo is scheduled to come on stream, it added.

Ormonde has moved to the development stage at the mine in Spain, having agreed a US$100mln finance package with US investor Oaktree earlier this year.

Sexual health product group Futura Medical (LON:FUM) reported progress today in developing an innovative new condom.

Futura said it had received encouraging initial data from tests of a modified manufacturing process for its CSD500 condom, which aims to help men to maintain a firmer erection during intercourse.

Research has shown that 46% of men had experienced some loss of sensitivity when using a condom during sexual intercourse, which can lead to loss of erection.

Mobile Streams (LON:MOS) told investors it knew of no reason why its shares surged sharply higher on Wednesday.

Trading at 7.5p the technology and ecommerce share was 33.3% higher for the day, though earlier the price had reached as high as 10p.

Mobile Streams, which among other ventures sells smartphone apps in emerging markets, has this year pushed into new territories such as India and Brazil.
