Idox jumps on bid from US shareholder Long Path

Idox PLC (AIM:IDOX) shares jumped over 24% after directors agreed to a £339.5 million cash offer from US investment group Long Path Partners, which has been a longstanding shareholder of the information management firm.

Under the offer, shareholders would receive 71.5p per share in cash, representing a 26.8% premium to the closing price on Monday and the highest the shares have been since 2023.

Long Path, which made the offer via a vehicle called Frankel UK Bidco, currently holds around 12% of Idox, having been an investor for seven years.

Along with irrevocable undertakings and non-binding letters of intent from other shareholders, it said support for the bid totalled over 35% of the share capital.

The Idox board unanimously supports the offer, with chair Chris Stone saying it "provides Idox shareholders with an attractive, certain value in cash today that reflects the quality of our business and its people.

"While we remain confident in Idox's standalone prospects, the board also notes Bidco's plans to invest in Idox's product suite and intentions to support continued investment in the business.

"Following careful consideration, as a board we have unanimously concluded that the acquisition is in the interests of our key stakeholders."
