American Rare Earths adds seasoned geologist Jason Beckton to board as Hugh Keller steps down

American Rare Earths Ltd (ASX:ARR, OTCQB:ARRNF) has strengthened its board with the appointment of experienced geologist Jason Beckton as non-executive director, as Hugh Keller steps down from the role after a year of service.

Beckton brings more than 30 years of global experience in exploration, development, and project management to the company, including extensive work in the rare earths sector. He has been active in critical minerals since 2012, initially in the Mt Isa region in Queensland and more recently in Finland with Prospech Ltd (ASX: PRS), where he has contributed to advancing carbonatite-hosted rare earth projects supporting Europe’s emerging supply chains.

A graduate of the University of Melbourne and the University of Tasmania, Beckton’s career has included senior exploration roles across Australia and Latin America — notably leading the discovery of the Caspiche porphyry deposit in Chile’s Maricunga Gold-Copper Belt during his time with Exeter Resource Corp. Beckton also serves on the boards of Lode Resources Ltd (ASX: LDR) and Cipango Japan, and he advises Uvre Ltd (ASX: UVA).

Strengthening the path to development

ARR chair Richard Hudson said Beckton’s appointment comes at a key stage as the company advances its flagship Halleck Creek Rare Earths Project in Wyoming through demonstration and pre-feasibility stages.

“We are delighted to welcome Jason Beckton to the Board. His depth of geological expertise and successful track record in project discovery and development add significant technical strength as ARR advances the Halleck Creek Project towards demonstration and pre-feasibility stages,” Hudson said.

“Jason’s international experience and understanding of critical mineral markets will be invaluable as the company continues to build a world-class rare earths business aligned with US supply-chain objectives.”

Hudson also thanked Keller for his contribution since joining the board in October 2024, citing his governance leadership and guidance during a period of strong corporate and technical progress.

Building America’s rare earths future

American Rare Earths, through its subsidiary Wyoming Rare (USA) Inc., is developing Halleck Creek — one of the largest rare earth deposits in the United States, with a JORC-compliant resource of 2.63 billion tonnes covering just 16% of the project area.

Located on mining-friendly state land, Halleck Creek is being designed for cost-efficient open-pit mining and on-site mineral processing, supporting US efforts to reduce reliance on imported critical minerals, particularly from China.

The project’s potential to underpin America’s long-term supply of rare earth elements — vital for defence, energy transition and advanced technologies — places ARR in a strategic position as Washington continues to prioritise domestic mineral independence.
