Resolution Minerals Ltd (ASX:RML, OTC:RLMLF) has reported a broad interval of near-surface gold mineralisation from the first hole of its maiden drill program at the 100%-owned Horse Heaven gold–antimony–tungsten–silver project in Idaho, USA.
Horse Heaven lies within a US district prospective for gold, antimony, tungsten and silver, commodities that align with US government priorities to bolster domestic critical-minerals supply chains. Resolution positions the project as a potential contributor to those supply objectives, subject to further exploration, permitting and development outcomes.
Horse Heaven Project location map, highlighting the location of the two current major antimony-gold-silver-tungsten targets, the Golden Gate Target (where the Phase 1 Core Drilling Program was conducted) and the Antimony Ridge Target. Also highlighted is the fully permitted Stibnite Gold Project, which is only 6km east of Horse Heaven. Note: Coordinates are UTM metres north and east metric system, not latitude/longitude.
At the Golden Gate prospect, diamond hole HH-GG25-001C returned 189.2 metres at 1.30 g/t gold from 34.1 metres downhole, ending in mineralisation including:
- 12.9 m at 2.32 g/t Au from 94.4 m
- 29.6m at 2.71 g/t Au from 131.8m
- 70.8 m at 2.24 g/t Au from 128.8 m
Schematic cross section of HH-GG25-001C showing the local geology, highlighting the significant gold intersections, the intersection of the underground working, and two pre-RML RC drill holes, 94-02 and 94-06. Strong pervasive gold mineralisation is hosted in both the monzonite (including 2.316g/t Au over 12.86m) and granodiorite (including 2.240g/t Au over 70.74m). Importantly, the gold “envelope”, occurring over a downhole interval of 223.4m occurs within the fault breccia, in the granodiorite and both sides of the granodiorite, in the monzonite. As the mineralisation extends for the near full interval of the hole, at present, there appears no spatial constraint on the gold mineralisation. Mineralisation is open-ended at depth and in all directions (purple arrows).
Resolution describes the result as the first test of unoxidised mineralisation at Horse Heaven and a “discovery hole” indicating a possible intrusive-hosted gold system.
“Delivering a discovery intercept of 189m of continuous gold from just 34m depth which bottoms in mineralisation in our very first hole is a tremendous result,” RML’s CEO of US Operations, Craig Lindsay, said.
“What excites us most is that we’ve confirmed a large intrusive-related gold system, the same style of system that hosts major deposits regionally, including Stibnite only 6km away.
“With assays pending from the nine remaining Golden Gate holes, several of which show the same style of mineralisation in visual core, we are building strong momentum. Golden Gate is only one of the multiple standout targets at Horse Heaven, and we believe this discovery hole is the first step in unlocking the broader district-scale potential of this project.”
According to the company, geology, sulphides and alteration observed in core align with an intrusive-hosted gold model similar to the deposit style at Stibnite, located about 6 kilometres away. Mineralisation at Golden Gate is reported to remain open to the north, south and at depth, suggesting potential scale along a shear-zone corridor.
Resolution notes that identical sulphide assemblages have been logged in follow-up holes HH-GG25-002C and HH-GG25-003C, with assays pending.
Phase 1 drill campaign update
Resolution has now completed its maiden Phase-1 diamond drilling program at the Golden Gate project, finishing 10 core holes for a combined 2,770.6 metres. The average hole depth was 277.1 metres.
All 10 holes have been logged and sampled. Today’s announcement includes the first batch of core results, largely from hole HH-GG25-001C.
Completed and current drill holes as of the date of this announcement.
Assay results for HH-GG25-002C and HH-GG25-003C are expected shortly. Results for HH-GG25-004C through HH-GG25-010C will be released sequentially over the coming months and may extend into December 2025.
Antimony Ridge reconnaissance
At the nearby Antimony Ridge prospect, shallow drilling has identified multiple stibnite (antimony sulphide) veins. Samples are being prepared for analysis, with results to be reported in due course.
Resolution is conducting environmental studies ahead of seeking permits for an extensive maiden drill program at Antimony Ridge.
Next steps
Horse Heaven is prospective for gold, antimony, silver and tungsten. While RML may at times prioritise areas with stronger gold potential — such as Golden Gate — the company intends to advance the full commodity suite across the project.
Project-wide
- A project-wide stream-sediment sampling program is nearing completion. Results will be released once assays are received and assessed.
Antimony Ridge
- RML is applying for a permit for a major drill program targeting deeper extensions beneath the extensive shallow antimony mineralisation at Antimony Ridge.
- A man-portable rig has been trialled; results are pending.
- Representative samples of stibnite–silica vein mineralisation are being collected for initial metallurgical testwork and mineralisation characterisation.
Golden Gate
- Following recent drilling at Golden Gate, RML is applying for a permit for a ~50-hole follow-up program to test HH-GG25-001C and the anticipated results from HH-GG25-002C to HH-GG25-010C.
