Solvonis Therapeutics PLC (LSE:SVNS) has appointed Paul Carter, one of the pharmaceutical industry’s most experienced executives, as a non-executive director to help guide its next stage of expansion.
The London-listed biotech, which develops medicines for disorders of the central nervous system, said Carter joins the board today (27 October).
His arrival comes as Solvonis looks to progress its portfolio of treatments targeting addiction, psychiatric and neurological conditions.
Carter is best known for his time at Gilead Sciences, where as executive vice president and chief commercial officer he ran international operations across 38 markets and helped drive annual revenues above US$30 billion.
He now chairs Clinigen Group, Kyowa Kirin International and the Swiss biotech Memo Therapeutics, and sits on the board of US-listed Immatics.

The company said Carter’s appointment would strengthen its board as it pursues a “licensing-first” growth strategy, designed to expand its drug pipeline while keeping costs under tight control.
