Maiden resource and new discovery headline strong September quarter for Terra Metals

Terra Metals Ltd (ASX:TM1) has delivered a milestone September quarter, defining a maiden resource for its flagship Dante Project in Western Australia while accelerating exploration across what it describes as a district-scale polymetallic system.

The company also confirmed a major new discovery at the Southwest Prospect and secured strong financial backing through a $15 million placement led by cornerstone investors GEAR, M Resources and Tribeca Investment Partners.

Maiden resource marks key milestone

During the quarter, Terra announced its first Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) for the 100%-owned Dante Project — a large-scale, near-surface polymetallic system within the Jameson Layered Intrusion of the West Musgrave region.

The independently verified MRE comprises 148 million tonnes at 14.8% titanium dioxide (TiO₂), 0.54% vanadium pentoxide (V₂O₅), 0.18% copper and 0.33 g/t platinum group elements (platinum, gold and palladium combined, or 3PGE), equating to about 22 million tonnes TiO₂, 800,000 tonnes V₂O₅, 270,000 tonnes copper and 1.6 million ounces of 3PGE.

A higher-grade indicated portion totals 38 million tonnes at 18.4% TiO₂, 0.73% V₂O₅, 0.23% Cu and 0.71 g/t 3PGE, underscoring the project’s strong economic potential.

Importantly, the current MRE covers less than 10% of the mapped mineralised trend, with mineralisation remaining open along strike and at depth.

Drilling expands and accelerates

Terra launched an extensive Phase 3 drill campaign during the quarter, mobilising three rigs to target high-priority critical metal horizons, outcropping reef layers and electromagnetic anomalies across the 20-kilometre-long Dante corridor.

So far, around 113 holes totalling 12,775 metres (101 reverse circulation and 12 diamond holes) have been completed, with assays pending. The work aims to extend known mineralisation at the main Dante Reefs and test new prospects identified in geophysical surveys.

Among these, the Southwest Prospect has quickly emerged as a major growth centre. First-pass drilling intersected a new titanomagnetite reef system with visual mineralisation up to 58 metres thick — the broadest reef interval observed to date at Dante. Assays are due in the current quarter.

Strong financial support

To accelerate its exploration and resource growth strategy, Terra completed the first tranche of a $15 million placement during the September quarter. The raise was led by cornerstone shareholders GEAR, M Resources founder Matt Latimore, and Tribeca Investment Partners, reflecting strong institutional support for the project.

Proceeds will fund ongoing drilling, resource expansion and development studies. The second tranche, expected to raise a further $8.3 million, will complete in November following shareholder approval received this month.

District-scale opportunity

With multiple parallel reef systems, extensive electromagnetic (EM) anomalies and more than 20 kilometres of mapped mineralisation, Terra says the Dante Project continues to demonstrate “significant potential for resource growth”. Ongoing downhole EM surveys and diamond drilling are designed to test for semi-massive copper–nickel–PGE–cobalt sulphide mineralisation.

Terra also continued to streamline its portfolio during the quarter, relinquishing non-core tenements at the Southern Cross project to focus resources on Dante.

At quarter end, the company reported a strong cash position to support continued exploration momentum into the December quarter, with drilling, assays and potential resource growth updates ahead.
