Markets in a Minute: Investor optimism, rising gold, and ASX Movers

In what's making headlines this Friday - international investor sentiment improved following news of a planned meeting between Donald Trump and Xi Jinping, while US sanctions on Russia have pushed up oil prices.

Gold prices have picked up again, touching just under 4150 USD an ounce.

Back on Aussie soil, let's take a look at some of the stocks that made news on the ASX this week .

GREEN

Resolution Minerals (ASX:RML) had a stellar week after meeting up with Australian ambassador Kevin Rudd and US officials, including Trump, on its Horse Heaven project - forming part of an 8.5 billion dollar critical minerals and rare earths deal between the two countries.

And Lightning Minerals (ASX:L1M) was also up this week after intersecting high-grade gold at its Mt Turner project in Queensland.

RED

Deep Yellow (ASX:DYL) plunged this week on news its long-serving CEO John Borshoff is stepping down after nearly a decade at the helm. CFO Craig Barnes will take over as acting CEO while the company searches for a replacement.

Australian Strategic Materials (ASX:ASM) also fell after announcing a heavily discounted placement to raise around $55 million to execute its Phase 2 ramp-up at the Korean Metals Plant.
