Tooru PLC (LSE:RGO) shares soared some 24% higher on Thursday after the small-cap food company announced it had expanded the number of products available at Tesco for its gluten-free brand OAF, with the number lines increasing to eight.
The wellness food company, which is valued at just £3 million in London, said it continues to see week-on-week growth, and highlighted that it is in advanced talks with other major supermarket chains for additional listings.
OAF is Tooru's retail-facing range which sits alongside Juvela, a prescription-led coeliac product line.
Tooru explained that the new OAF range is aimed at health-conscious consumers, and it aims to "attract a broader healthy foodie shopper in the Free-From aisle".
Unlike most gluten-free bread that uses rice flour, both OAF and Juvela use a special wheat starch with gluten removed to improve taste and texture, Tooru added.
"By combining Juvela's historical quality, craft and expertise with OAF's vibrant brand personality, we are on a mission to inject new energy, relevance, taste and enjoyment to the retail Free-From space, starting with a line of high-quality bakery goods, in the fastest growing areas of this category," said chief executive Scott Livingston.
"All of this has been achieved in a relatively short period of time which, we believe, will ultimately create significant value for shareholders."
In London, Tooru shares were up 28% changing hands at 0.24p.
