The Small Cap Wrap: ASX retreats from 52-week high as mining stocks weigh on market

Australia’s benchmark S&P/ASX 200 slipped 0.71% (−64.70) to 9,030.00 on Wednesday, easing back after setting a fresh 52-week high earlier in the session. Miners led declines, with Genesis Minerals and Evolution Mining down 10.29% and 10.27%. Over five sessions the index is still up 0.43% and sits 0.93% below its 52-week peak.

The S&P/ASX Small Ordinaries (XSO) fell 1.69% (−64.60) to 3,758.90 today, bringing its five-day loss to 3.29% (−127.90).
