Liberty Star Uranium & Metals Corp. (OTCQB:LBSR) (dba Liberty Star Minerals) said on Tuesday it has successfully completed induced polarization and resistivity testing over known gold-bearing veins at its wholly owned Red Rock Canyon gold project.
The geophysical survey, conducted in July 2025, successfully detected and characterized gold-bearing veins, confirming that electrical geophysics can effectively map subsurface mineralization, the company said.
According to Liberty Star, the gold-bearing veins showed higher resistivity than surrounding limestone due to their siliceous, jasperoidal composition and displayed elevated IP values linked to sulfide minerals such as pyrite and arsenopyrite, which it said are traits typical of Carlin-style deposits.
The close-spaced three-meter data intervals from the survey allow for precise mapping of vein geometry and enhanced pre-drilling grade estimation.
The company added that the findings could support volumetric gold estimates through grid-style surveys and highlight older IP anomalies that warrant further study.
“The data did exactly what a calibration test should do—light up what we already know is there," said Dr Jim Fink, chief technology officer and geophysicist with Sub Rosa Monitoring LLC, who led the survey. "The ability to readily detect, map, and characterize these gold-bearing veins using electrical geophysics represents a significant advancement in our exploration capabilities."
Liberty Star chairman Pete O'Heeron said the results validate the company’s systematic exploration approach and enhance its ability to identify new high-grade targets. “This technology will allow us to optimize our drilling programs and potentially identify additional high-grade targets that were previously undetectable due to soil cover,” he said.
