Pinnacle Silver & Gold Corp (TSX-V:PINN, OTCQB:NRGOF) has appointed veteran mining engineer Carlos Castro Villalobos as project manager for its high-grade El Potrero gold-silver project in Mexico, as the company advances toward potential production.
Castro, a mining engineer with more than 45 years of experience, has previously held senior roles at Peñoles, Luismin, Great Panther, and First Majestic. He also oversaw the construction of a 300-tonne-per-day processing plant for Rochester Resources, a background Pinnacle said will be particularly relevant at El Potrero.
The company said Jorge Ortega, the Qualified Person for the project and author of its NI 43-101 report, will continue as exploration manager.
“I am excited to be working with both Carlos and Jorge again,” said Robert Archer, Pinnacle’s CEO. “As we move forward towards a production scenario at El Potrero, it is gratifying to be able to draw on their expertise in building a new team, to maximize the chance of success.”
Archer noted that both Castro and Ortega previously worked with him at Great Panther Silver, where they contributed to the company’s growth through operations at the Guanajuato Mine.
El Potrero is a high-grade, low-sulphidation epithermal gold-silver system located in Durango, Mexico.
