Ilika PLC (AIM:IKA, OTCQX:ILIKF) has completed commissioning of its automated Goliath solid-state battery (SSB) pilot line, marking a key milestone toward commercialisation of its large-format battery technology.
The 1.5MWh facility is now fully operational, enabling production of consistent, high-yield cells for customer validation and testing programmes.
The British battery technology developer said the pilot line will support the delivery of 10Ah P1.5 generation prototypes from December, followed by 50Ah P2 prototypes based on customer feedback and demand.
Ilika added that the upgraded automation allows production of the large volumes required for automotive and industrial testing.
“The completion of the Goliath pilot line is a major milestone in our journey to commercialisation," said chief executive Graeme Purdy.
"This automation delivers the consistent performance and quality our customers require for their validation programmes, while de-risking their future scale-up to giga-scale production."
Ilika highlighted that it will continue collaborating with the UK Battery Industrialisation Centre (UKBIC), Jaguar Land Rover and HSSMI under the PRIMED programme to develop A- and B-Sample pre-production cells.
