Lightning Minerals Ltd (ASX:L1M) managing director Alex Biggs talked with Proactive about early success from the company’s maiden drilling campaign at the Mt Turner Gold Project in north-west Queensland.
Biggs described the outcome as a “significant step” for the company, with the first hole of a nine-hole campaign returning high-grade gold intersections. These included 20 metres at 2.5 grams per tonne gold, with a higher-grade component of 10.5 grams per tonne. “This project, it’s just at the start. We think there’s a huge opportunity here to define a significant gold resource,” he said.
The aim of the campaign is to demonstrate the presence of strong gold mineralisation, grade and scale – all of which have been confirmed by the early results. Biggs said assays from the remaining holes are expected in the coming weeks.
