Solis Minerals Ltd (ASX:SLM, TSX-V:SLMN, OTCQB:SLMFF) CEO Mitch Thomas talked with Proactive about the company's acquisition of up to 100% of the Cucho Copper Project in Peru’s Ancash Department. The staged earn-in agreement gives Solis Minerals an initial 75% interest, with an option to move to full ownership.
Thomas explained that Cucho offers a compelling combination of location and prospectivity, situated just 40km from the coast and export facilities, with strong infrastructure and minimal agricultural or community impact. “There’s geochem kind of everywhere,” Thomas said, highlighting significant mineralisation at surface and seven historical drill holes from 2014, which all intercepted grades consistent with operating projects in the region.
Thomas confirmed that permitting and exploration planning is already underway at Cucho, including surface sampling and a drone magnetic survey, with the aim to drill before the end of 2025. Other assets in the portfolio, such as Canyon, are also progressing toward drill readiness in mid-2026.
