Risers & fallers: Access Intelligence, Iofina, Danl Stewart, Auhua Clean Energy, PowerFilm, Metminco

Investors took a gamble on Ladbrokes while Ashtead fell despite good results.

Below are some of today’s main news-driven share price changes.

RISERS

Access Intelligence (LON:ACC), up 16.7%. The company has pulled the trigger on its proposed acquisitions of Cision UK and Vocus UK for £1.34mln. The information management firm also plans to raise £3.03mln through a share subscription. Meanwhile, Kole Dhoot, the company’s CFO, has resigned after an extended period of absence.

Iofina (LON:IOF), up 13.7%. The company raised production guidance for the first half of 2015.

Daniel Stewart (LON:DAN), up 11.0%. The stockbroker issued a statement saying it knew of no reason for the share price rise.

LOSERS

Auhua Clean Energy (LON:ACE), down 44.6%. The company has confirmed press speculation that it is planning to raise around £1.5mlm through the issue of shares to be placed at a substantial discount to the current share price.

PowerFilm (LON:PFLM), down 22.7%. Shareholders have approved plans for the solar panels firm to delist from AIM.

Metminco (LON:MNC), down 14.3%. Following a new detailed geological modelling of the Los Calatos Porphyry complex, an updated mineral resource estimate has been completed, which has identified a new higher grade copper development opportunity.

RISERS

Ladbrokes (LON:LAD) up 4%. The betting shop chain was boosted by an upgrade to ‘overweight’ from ‘equal weight’ from US broker Morgan Stanley.

British American Tobacco (LON:BATS) up 2.67%. The cigarette-maker was boosted by an upgrade to ‘outperform’ from Credit Suisse.

GlaxoSmithKline (LON:GSK) up 1%. Reports suggest the pharma giant could become the latest takeover target in the with dealers speculating Roche of Switzerland or Johnson & Johnson of the US could offer about 1900p per share, valuing it at more than £92billion.

FALLERS

Kaz Minerals (LON:KAZ) down 4.2%. Broker Numis Securities reduced its rating on the company’s shares.

Ashtead (LON:AHT) down 2.75%. Sanlam Securities said full year results released today were good, but noted that a “drag effect” from new openings and acquisitions held back Sunbelt's margin.

BlackRock World Mining trust (LON:BRWM) down 2%. Fears continue to simmer about the strength of the Chinese steel market with iron prices also under pressure.

RISERS

Lekoil (LON:LEK), up 9.3%. The company has received ministerial consent for its acquisition of a 40% interest in the Otakikpo Marginal Field in the south-eastern part of the Niger Delta.

Europa Oil & Gas (LON:EOG), up 9.2%. Consultant ERC Equipoise estimates the AIM-listed explorer and producer’s 15% interest in three prospects within frontier exploration licence 3/13 to be an unrisked US$1.6bn.

Mosman Oil & Gas (LON:MSMN), up 7.1%. The company has determined a drilling location for a well on its wholly-owned Murchison permit PEP 57068 in New Zealand.

LOSERS

Flowgroup (LON:FLOW), down 36.1%. The company has announced a substantial reduction in the number of boilers it expects to install this year.

Thor Mining (LON:THR), down 33.3%. The company has raised £525,000 by placing shares at 0.05p each. The share price ebbed to 0.06p on the news.

APR Energy (LON:APR), down 32.6%. The power solutions provider has issued a profit warning, largely because of operational issues in Libya.
